Why do Diversity, Equity & Inclusion matter?

Our speaker for the evening is k. Gift Arpaporn Samabhandhu, Area Managing Director for Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, Metropolitan Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan). Alongside her professional duties, K Gift also serves as a Vice President and a member of the Board of Governors for AmCham Thailand.

On top of her passion to make a difference in peoples’ lives through healthcare, k. Gift is passionate about building purposeful brands, and has a strong track record for building high-performing diverse teams.

K. Gift believes awareness and respect for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) must be intentionally developed early in childhood, if we’re to reduce the societal impacts of conscious and unconscious biases.

Throughout human history, cultures that embraced Diversity, Equity and Inclusion have outperformed those that didn’t. In our current day and age, companies pursuing these policies see tangible rewards in every aspect of their business, recruitment, product innovation, marketing, etc., because they demonstrate an honest commitment to respect and engage their stakeholders.

With talent in short supply, and the economic landscape fraught with uncertainty, embracing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion isn’t just about gaining a competitive edge, it’s about building a better world.

“…Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) can only be achieved when every individual’s diverse uniqueness is celebrated, equality is respected and inclusivity is embraced…”
